Berggruen Holdings Gmbh is an independent, owner-managed real estate investment company. We buy, renovate, modernize and rent residential, office and commercial properties in Berlin.

Our goal is to build a long-term real estate portfolio of diverse buildings that have character. For us, real estate is more than just an investment. We are interested in architecture, aesthetics and art as well as cash flow.

Nicolas Berggruen founded the company in October 2005 together with Samuel Czarny, who heads day-to-day operations from an office in Berlin-Charlottenburg. Since then, around 450 million euros have been invested in the acquisition and renovation of around 100 properties with a total of around 300,000 square meters of building space in Berlin and Potsdam.

The properties include apartment buildings as well as 17 partially listed industrial estates and outstanding special properties, such as the Cafe Moscow. The main interest is in buildings with unique character in locations with development potential.

In June 2017, Berggruen Holdings founded Berggruen France Properties, or BFP. Managed by Rodolphe Zellitch, BFP owns and manages a long-term diversified real estate portfolio in France.

Around 220 million euros have been invested in the acquisition and renovation of four properties with a total of around 20,000 square meters of building space in Paris. With properties located primarily in Paris’s Central Business District, BFP attracts tenants seeking a strategic location and superior amenities. The portfolio mainly comprises fully modernised residential, office and premium retail units in prime locations.

BFP seeks to meet the ambitious goal of serving the very exacting prime rental market by offering the best buildings in Paris. This requires specific expertise and in-depth knowledge of the market, its products, its customers and their business requirements. Reinvented and beautified, each building becomes a matchless ecosystem of residential and offices that are outstanding both in the quality of their amenities on offer and in their ability to accommodate the latest trends in living and the workplace.

The Beverly Estate is a historic property formerly known as the Hearst Mansion, the Hearst Estate, the Beverly House, and the Getz House. The property was formally renamed to the Beverly Estate in 2022. The property is located at 1011 North Beverly Drive in Beverly Hills, California.

The mansion, designed by architect Gordon Kaufmann and constructed in 1926, blends together influences from various architectural styles. Often described as being built in the Mediterranean Revival style, the mansion features a Spanish colonial facade coupled with Italian-style gardens. The terraces outside the home can accommodate a party of up to 400 seated guests, and the home can accommodate more casual parties of up to 1,000 guests. The landscaping was designed by Paul Thiene.

The property occupies a place of historic and cultural significance in Beverly Hills, having previously served as the residence of film star Marion Davies and her partner, William Randolph Hearst. Notably, President John F. Kennedy and his wife, Jacqueline, stayed at the mansion during their honeymoon. Joseph Kennedy also used the mansion as his headquarters during the 1960 Democratic National Convention in Los Angeles. It has served as a location for films such as The Godfather and The Bodyguard, and more recently a music video by Beyoncé for the singer’s Black Is King album.
